Cake Smash Samantha – Sydney Childrens Photographer

Not so long ago the most divine little girl came for a very exciting 1st birthday cake smash….. this was my first cake smash to be held at my Cromer Studio…… I love these sessions, I get to bake a very yummy cake, a child usually gets to taste their very first piece of cake….. then we get to eat a little of the here said cake….its all about the “CAKE”, well usually…… Samantha didn’t want to really eat the cake, she didn’t really like to touch the cake, and even though we always think everyone likes cake, well Samantha just didn’t! SO I usually take a series of images before the cake smash so that Mum and Dad have a couple of gorgeous photographs before their little one gets all sticky!! OHHHHH little did I know I would be taking images of an absolute angel! Samantha was the perfect toddler to test out some wings that I had purchased before christmas and I have fallen in love with this set of photo’s…. Yes I ordered a beautiful mounted print for the studio because she is just too darn GORGEOUS! Karen Im so glad you had fun at the session even though we didn’t really SMASH a cake!

Seedling Benjamin – Sydney Newborn Photographer

Ok Ok…… this is the cutest….. Benjamin is squishy, divine, happy, smiley, just all over yummy! I love big smiles, and cheeky laughs and benjamin had it all…… at 10 weeks old again I always worry that we may not get those gorgeous sleepy shots, but look right here, we did it, and it can be done, we just need to be patient and take our time, and then it only takes a split second to get a series of images……. Jing came to my Cromer studio for her session and had seen my nest on my blog/web site before and really wanted to capture benjamin in it….. I said I had an Idea lets give it a go…. and I think we captured one of my favourite images in the nest, a little owl peeking out from a cute little hat….. we tried to get him sleeping in the nest but by this stage he was just not in a sleepy mood…… and the results of a gorgeous awake shot is what we got, and I love it! Jing you have a gorgeous little man on your hands congratulations…

Seedling Gisele – Sydney Newborn Photographer

Hello gorgeous girl……. this is seedling Gisele, isn’t she divine…..I love it when my little models open their eyes for a peek a boo!! well sometimes they just don’t want to sleep, so we have to make do with what the bubs are doing! Dana, Alex and Gisele came to visit me at Seed Photography’s studio in Cromer to have gorgeous family images taken as well as some sleepy newborn shots…..I love the interaction of daddy’s and their little girls…… such a precious time for them, tiny and sweet…. this is one of my latest little hats and wrap that I knitted and am so excited to see it in use….. I feel very special when I use my very own knitting……

Seedling Sebastian – Sydney Newborn Photographer

I love the little people who come to visit me with their mummy ‘s and daddy’s, they have no idea that they have had a photo session, they have no idea how much this simple little day in my studio in Cromer means to their mummy and daddy, we are creating something that will last a life time, they sleep, (mostly) they eat, they have a little look around and then they sleep some more! their mum and dad watch on in awe, because just a short time ago this little guy wasn’t on the outside world, he was inside his mummy who was doing the most amazing job growing him and nurturing him…. from the tiny seed that he was when he began his journey, to now a seedling growing big and strong, 10 fingers and 10 toes, tiny ears and a button nose…… yes we make these, yes I still look and wonder, yes I love each and every one that visits me…… the little wings you see below I made, I have some crazy ideas sometimes and making them come to life is so much fun, I hot glued my fingers together, I hot glued feathers everywhere, but yes what I dreamed of for this shot, I made happen! Sebastian was a perfect model for them, he fitted just right in my nest…. I have been knitting again and have many new wraps coming up soon, as well as a few little hats…..Michelle and Ean, congratulations on your little boy he is just perfect!!

Seedling Taj – Sydney Newborn Photographer

So my last post was about the gorgeous maternity session of Kylie & JP and now I’m posting about the most divine little boy called Taj, their little boy, they created and grew and made this little boy!!! these little clients when they don’t sleep, I first try to get a few images of them awake, sometimes it works and sometimes id doesn’t, well today as you can see it worked, look at that gaze, he was very content just looking around and not really wanting to shut his eyes…. finally he closed them and looks so so peaceful….. I did ask Kylie to come back to the studio the following week to continue his session as he really didn’t sleep much in the first one which makes it very hard to get the basket or props shots! a very sleepy baby is important so we can keep them safe and sound as well as looking cute! when babies are awake for the session they tend to startle and shake their little hands and just sometime wont stay still which can make it very hard to capture a shot! Kylie & Jp, Taj is divine and I’m sure looking back on these images he has changed again so so much…..

I love to take images of a time that goes slowly then quickly then slowly then GONE!…….. pregnant women feel like they have been pregnant forever, and then all of a sudden you have a gorgeous little bundle of “LOVE” in your hands…..Kylie had organised her session with seed photography months before we got to meet, I am always excited to finally meet my clients and then I get to meet their bumps! we headed out to a gorgeous beach location to capture the last moments of Kylie and JP when it was still just Kylie and JP…… well now it’s Kylie, JP and Taj….. I will show you the little man in another post soon, he is so so cute! capturing tender special moment s before you become a family is so important to keep as a memory…… I’m so glad I can be apart of just these moments!! enjoy x

Alanna & Tony – Sydney Wedding Photographer

This is Alanna & Tony, they are madly in love, they are going to become husband and wife on Saturday, and I will be the very special one chosen to capture their memories for them to hang on their walls and treasure…… I was very excited when Alanna contacted me to meet and possibly be their wedding photographer, we met down in manly for coffee, they told me their love story, and about their gorgeous wedding plans…… and then they emailed me to say they would love for me to be their wedding photographer…. we decided to do an engagement session so they can get to know me and how I shoot so I don’t frighten them on their wedding day!! we planned a day to go to the amazing centennial park….. and then the rain fell, anybody that lives in Sydney will know how much the rain has been falling….. so we planned another day and the rain fell again….. then we just said let’s do it, rain hail or shine….. well just as we arrived the skies’ cleared and the gorgeous afternoon light hit us…. it was a little squishy in places, I did have an amazing shot I wanted to create but the MUD was against me!! so here they are, with a beautiful backdrop for a beautiful couple….. I can’t wait for Saturday!!!

so here I am, two years later and the owner of a gorgeous new studio….. welcome to seed photography’s studio in cromer on sydney’s northern beaches, my studio, a place for me to meet, greet, enjoy, laugh, capture, sing, live, love, love doing what I do, creating amazing images for my clients to enjoy, share, and look back on when their baby is no longer a baby…… to create art for your walls, to create a love that shines through your images, to just create…… this will be a long post about how I got to where I have got to….. I love at 44, in my life, I have a dream that I am still chasing…. I am a newborn photographer, I have beautiful children, I have an amazing supportive husband who if it was not for him I could not be doing what I am doing….. I have a heart full of love for gorgeous images, I cannot get enough images in my life, and it started many many years ago…..my dad, an amazing man had a love for all things technical and new, he had every new piece of electronic gear available to man, and had it first!! He did develop images the olden day way, in a dark room…. he did film, photograph, video and capture everything he could and I have many many images of his, I have slides, I have films, I have videos….. I only wish he knew what I have now turned into my career, I wish he knew I am a photographer, he cant know because all I have of him now is photographs…….and memories….. yes folks, all we end up with if you think about it, is PHOTOGRAPHS of the ones we love so dearly!! I thank you dad for being who you were…. my studio was built by my amazing husband who is a landscape garden designer, his work is here at balconescape and I think he is amazing…… so I asked him to build my beautiful studio, I designed and created and gave him my ideas and he came up with the goods….

for those of you that don’t know me personally, you would not know that I have been a window dresser and store designer for over 25 years….. yes people, I have designed many of the gorgeous stores that you may shop in believe it or not…. I have a passion for creating beautiful things, I thrive on a challenge and I have had many, in my personal life and my career, but they say that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger right!! below is a store that I designed in melbourne called the baby gallery, an amazing store for all things baby and mum….. I also designed and rolled out all the new babies galore stores, who unfortunately folded and got taken over by mothercare, also another baby store called baby village, I have designed, rolled out and have travelled the world doing the things that I love…… and I have loved every minute of my work….. I can see things finished right from the start…. the moment I walk into a store empty like below, I know what I can do, how I can do it and then I can actually create it and make it happen…. I am lucky like that, and my husband has the same ability to see finished work before it has even begun! I have been commisioned to work on many stores and still do get asked now to design, create and deliver…. and I still love it!

so back to my studio, this is my passion, this is my baby, this is me…….I have learnt that women love beautiful things, we love to touch, feel, smell, and look beautiful…..I know that customer service is everything, I know that, because it means every thing to me….. I am my very own client, I am the one I’m trying to impress, I am and want to give that to everyone that walks through my doors, please if you are not happy with my service tell me, otherwise I may never know where I went wrong!! I have had three sessions so far in my studio and each client has said they could have sat with me all day just chatting and relaxing in my gorgeous space… yes I love it in there, I do have a coffee machine, I do have music playing while we shoot, I do enjoy hearing everything about you, your baby and your birth!! I do love all that I do….. I have a change station to change your baby on, I have nappies and wipes, and towels…… I have divine props that I collect from all around australia, I have so many blankets I need to extend the studio already, NO, but really all I want to do is give each of you that comes to me a truly relaxed, and beautiful time with me, your baby and my camera….. hang your images proud on your walls, I know I do, I have run out of wall space in my house, and I still always try to fit one more image up to show off…. Please share this blog post to all of your family and friends that may want to experience my studio for themselves…. Seedling Andre – Sydney Newborn Photographer

I have neglected my gorgeous blog, I am sorry blog world…… We have been so busy since October last year that time has got away from me…… We sold a house or two, bought a a house, moved a child out, moved a parent in, renovated part of the house and also created and renovated a STUDIO for Seed Photography…… I can now concentrate on my babies in a divine space now in Cromer, still on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. I have a gorgeous comfy spot for my clients to sit and watch on…. I will blog about my new studio in my next post! It will be epic!! so while all of these things were going on around me I did manage to capture some beautiful images of little seeds….. this little guy is Andre’ he was so so sweet and slept like a dream, I loved that his mummy had a sleep on my lounge while I captured his gorgeous images… The little hat he is wearing is my first crochet hat that I have ever made, turned out pretty cute if I may say so myself….. the model helps!! I look forward to sharing my exciting studio with you all soon… x

Seedling Sebastian – Sydney Newborn Photographer

Happy new year to all of my amazing client, friends, family and fans…. what a start to the year I am having…. right before Christmas I had a few very sweet little boys in the studio for newborn sessions, this is Sebastian, he would not sleep for me, but looking at these images you would think he slept the whole time….. the first session I did with sebastian went for about four hours….. not thinking I had enough images I said to his mummy lets give it another go to get a few more shots the following week…….. the second session I did was also a marathon and he still didn’t like me to get him to sleep, I persisted and got a few more gorgeous images that are now being proudly hung on the walls of their home………congratulations Ineka & Branden on your beautiful boy….
